The Couch-to-5k iPhone app is killer. It’s a walk/run program that 1) works behind your iPod playlist, 2) notifies you when it’s time to walk or run, 3) slowly trains you to run a full 5k over the course of 9 weeks.
I haven’t been a runner in years, and in that time I’ve also acquired a fake knee. Chicago is great for running so I’ve been trying to get back in the groove, but it’s tough. This app is motivating, easy to use, and keeps me at pace while slowly ramping up to a full 30 minute run. Maybe I’m just high on endorphins right now, but all I can say is it’s worth every penny!
